I met Erica and Phil a few years ago through my brother and now sister-in-law. They all attend church together up in Arlington County, Virginia and are close friends. Actually, the first time we met was at my parents’ house just north of Richmond! Several members of their young professionals group at church had gone to the Outer Banks for a beach week and, on their way back to northern Virginia, their caravan stopped at my parents’ place so my brother could pick up his dog. We quickly ordered about half-a-dozen pizzas for everyone before they hit the road again!

Anyway, Erica and Phil are college sweethearts from their days at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA and have been married for about 3-1/2 years now. A year ago, they bought their first home up in Alexandria and adopted their Portuguese Water Dog, Maggie!

We’ve tried to get together before for photos, but it never worked out. So when Erica asked me if I was coming back up and could get some photos of them for their Christmas card, I was happy to oblige! After all, any trip up to Alexandria means I get to visit my niece! 🙂
